Little C time. Part 2

We had a busy few days at home.

Play time at the local park.

With a nice lolly to cool down.

Followed by lunch at to local cafe which has a big indoor play area.

The next day we did some painting at the pottery painting cafe.

Where we painted a tank for mummy and daddy.

We then went on to explore a local field.

Before going home and playing diggers.

A fun few days for both of us.

Little C time. Part 1.

Have just had a delightful week with my grandson. A very busy but fun week.

Old fashioned entertainment can be just as much fun. Punch and Judy show had the little ones in stitches.

The next day we had a fun time at Sundown Adventure Park.

Got soaked on the barrels.

Playing around the park.

It was a gloriously sunny day and we had a great time.

Tattershall Castle

A lovely morning spent at Tattershall Castle. They were having a living history day when we were there with lots of people dressed in medieval clothes, living life as they would have done in medieval times.

Mark getting lessons in medieval warfare.

View from the top of the tower.

Old tapestries.

Original old fireplace.

Summer Walk

It's hot and sunny just now so to make the most of this lovely weather we went for a walk around Culverthorpe.

Lots of wheat fields ready to harvest.

A welcome shady spot on the path.

We came upon this sign.

There was indeed a bull in the field and also these Highland Cows with enormous horns. The path we were walking on was very narrow so I don't know what we would have done if one of these had put their head over the fence.

The path cut through farmer's fields.

Then past Culverthorpe hall and the beautiful old houses next to it.

It was a lovely walk but we were more than ready for a long cold drink when we got home.

Belton House

We visited Belton House at the weekend because there was a food and craft fayre on. The fayre was a little disappointing with only a few stalls there but the grounds were beautiful.

We visited the little church with its gorgeous stained glass windows.

Then on down the grounds

Past a lot of little rabbits

Then up to the lake and the boat house.

Then on up to the second little lake which was covered in lily pads.

We then made our way back to the main house through beautiful flower gardens.

We even ventured into the maze ..... But only a short way in.

We also saw lots of deer in the grounds but they wouldn't let you get close enough for photos.

Fulbeck Hall

We spent a lovely afternoon walking around the gardens of Fulbeck Hall. These aren't usually open to the public but they were open today as part of the open gardens scheme.

There were lots of winding paths and shady little spots to sit in.

You could wind round wild areas

Stroll around more formal gardens

Sit in small hidden spots

Shelter from the sun in this leafy cave in the bamboo.

There were lots of interesting plants and flowers too. I've no idea what these are but I loved looking at them.

Finally, we made our way back and had coffee and home made cake.

On our way back to our car we were lucky enough to spot this beauty.
